O Centro Interpretativo da Mulher Duriense é um espaço de apresentação, discussão e preservação da memória das mulheres da Região do Douro.
Distintas classes sociais, várias gerações, diversas estórias de vida fazem da Mulher Duriense um conjunto plural e diversificado. Neste local dá-se a conhecer essa pluralidade, conservando-se ainda assim um sentido coletivo que permite unir a condição histórica de ser mulher, enquanto conjunto conceptualmente marginalizado no decurso da História.
Aqui não só retratamos a consciência histórica da opressão, da violência e do silenciamento a que foram votadas as mulheres ao longo de vários séculos de existência, como também damos lugar a uma mensagem de esperança perante as vigentes conquistas em relação ao papel atribuído às mulheres em sociedade.
The Interpretive Centre of the Douro Woman is a place for presenting, discussing and preserving the memory of the women from the Douro Region.
Different social classes, various generations, diverse lite stories make the Douro Woman a plural and diverse group. Here, we get to know this plurality, thus conserving a collective meaning which allows us to unite the historical condition of being a woman, as a group conceptually marginalised throughout History.
Here we do not only portray the historical conscience of the oppression, the violence and the silencing women were subjected to over the various centuries of their existence, but we also leave space for a message of hope in view of the current achievements regarding the role of women in society.
